System and method for high gain Raman spectroscopy (US 11860106 B1)

Description

Patent on stimulated Raman spectroscopy carried out with tunable CW lasers, RF modulations to induce beat notes when encountering the Raman non-linearities (SRS), a rasterizing probe that lowers the average W/cm2 at any spot on the sample to reduce photobleaching and sample burn and to allow higher laser powers to be employed, a novel photodiode amplifier that resonates out the capacitance of a large area photodiode and provides some noiseless gain and filtering via transformer coupling whilst protecting the ADC from clipping due to strong unwanted signals, the use of SDR-like DSP following the ADC, and a technology that can enhances to limits of detection, even allowing such things as Raman pulse plethysmography to be implemented.
