Description
In this article, I analyze the legislative framework and the real-world practical challenges regarding the protection of women's rights and the assurance of gender equality in Uzbekistan. Drawing upon the experiences of leading nations in the Global Gender Gap Index such as Iceland, Finland, Norway, etc., I examine the mechanisms of structural economic and social stability. I highlight the specific legal loopholes within the national legislation, particularly the complexity of proving hidden discrimination as well as economic and psychological abuse in court. To address these pressing issues, I propose systemic solutions, including strengthening employer accountability, shattering the "glass ceiling" effect, introducing mandatory paternity leave for men, enhancing women's economic independence, and dismantling unhealthy gender stereotypes in media and education.
