Description

This article analyzes the effectiveness of interactive methods in increasing students' vocabulary in English lessons. Vocabulary is one of the main supporting factors in learning a foreign language, because if a student does not have a sufficient vocabulary, he cannot fully develop listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing skills. Although the traditional approach based on memorization in some cases gives short-term results, it does not provide sufficient use of words in active speech. Therefore, the use of interactive methods in modern English language teaching is of great importance. The article discusses the impact of such methods as role-playing games, cluster, brainstorming, pair work, group discussion, communicative tasks, “word map”, “matching”, “find someone who”, “story chain” on the process of vocabulary acquisition. The study used descriptive, analytical and comparative methods. The results show that interactive methods increase student engagement in the lesson, help use words in context, strengthen the memorization process, and create a communicative environment. At the same time, the article also points out the dangers of incorrect use of methods, inefficient time allocation, and failure to equally involve all students. In conclusion, it is argued that interactive methods are effective only when used in accordance with a specific goal, topic, assessment criteria, and student level.
