This slide deck was presented as part of the Lightning Talks series on April 10, 2026, hosted by the Ronin Institute for Independent Scholarship 2.0 (RIIS 2.0).
About the talk: "From Me to We: A Guide for Community Stewardship" is a book that was recently published at the end of February, 2026. This talk presents the main concepts of the Guide, including: Cultivate your membership, Get together, Be intentional with power, Communicate clearly, and Be ready for rough waters. Examples of some practical templates for assessment and management of community stewarding will be presented. By the end of the talk, members of the audience will learn what it means to be a community steward and leave with a few useful tips that they can implement among the groups and communities that they are a part of.
