Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of Human Roles in Organizations: A Systematic Literature Review
Authors/Creators
Description
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed human roles within organizations, shifting tasks from routine operations to more strategic and cognitive activities. Before AI adoption, human involvement dominated decision-making, data analysis, and operational processes. However, the increasing capabilities of AI have led to automation, human-AI collaboration, and the emergence of new skill demands. Despite extensive research, existing studies remain fragmented and lack a comprehensive synthesis. Therefore, this study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method combined with the PRISMA framework to analyze the evolution of human roles before and after AI adoption, as well as potential future developments. Relevant literature is collected from reputable databases, including Scopus, ScienceDirect, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. The findings indicate a shift toward strategic, creative, and analytical roles, with increasing emphasis on digital and cognitive skills. This study provides a structured understanding of how AI reshapes human roles and offers insights for organizations in preparing for future workforce transformation.
