This article examines the historical development, formation, and main stages of the science of hadith interpretation (sharh al-hadith). It analyzes the early interpretive practices of the Companions and the Followers, as well as the contributions of classical scholars and their methodological approaches. The study also defines the concept of hadith interpretation and highlights its role within the broader framework of Islamic sciences. Particular attention is given to the contemporary relevance of this discipline in modern scholarship.
