Description
Due to the rapid development of new technologies of the twentieth century society, the body increasingly distance itself from its true biological nature as image, it is considered a resource and lived as an object. Since the 1960´s , many artists used photography to explore this distance and return the body, devoid of materiality due to abuse of these technologies, its physicality and weight , as a biological being. The role of photography as a mean of documentation for the personal identity and the emergence of what is known as photo-performance, causes the emergence of a sub-genre within the Body Art: The Body like an Identity.
Abstract (Spanish)
Debido al rápido desarrollo de las nuevas tecnologías en la sociedad del siglo XX, el cuerpo se distancia cada vez más de su auténtica naturaleza biológica en forma de imágenes, se considera un recurso y se vive como objeto. Desde la década de 1960, muchos artistas emplearon la fotografía para explorar este distanciamiento y devolverle al cuerpo carente de materialidad debido al abuso de esas tecnologías, su corporalidad y su peso, como ser biológico. La función de la fotografía como medio de documentación de la identidad personal, y el surgimiento de lo que se conoce como fotoperformance, provoca el surgimiento de un subgénero dentro del Arte Corporal: El Cuerpo como Identidad.
