Utvärdering av modul räddningstjänst för Emergo Train System

Description

Background:
Emergency preparedness training often relies on simulation tools to improve coordination and decision-making in complex incidents. The Emergo Train System (ETS) is a well-established simulation platform used globally for disaster medicine training. However, specific modules tailored to fire and rescue services have been lacking.
Objective:
The study aimed to test and evaluate a newly developed rescue service module for use within the Emergo Train System, assessing its applicability, usability, and contribution to training. The target group consisted of fire and rescue personnel, including firefighters, incident commanders, and other operational and command staff from rescue services.
Results:
Results from workshops with 13 participants across three rescue services showed that the module was perceived as understandable, accurate, and well-adapted for training purposes. Participants reported improved understanding of rescue operations, enhanced engagement, and perceived applicability of learned skills to real-life situations. The module also contributed to improved training opportunities and knowledge development.
Conclusion:
The ETS rescue service module was found to be a useful and effective training tool. It supports learning, enhances realism, and improves preparedness in rescue operations. Further development is recommended, including refinement of symbols, instructor training, and integration of performance indicators tailored to rescue services.
