Hydraulic Profiling Tool (HTP) soundings for aquifer characterisation at TUD Groundwater Observatory

  • 1. ROR icon TU Dresden

Description

This dataset contains Hydraulic Profiling Tool (HPT) sounding data from 8 direct-push locations at the TUD Groundwater Observatory in Pirna, Germany, acquired between November 2021 and February 2022. Each sounding provides a continuous high-resolution vertical profile of flow-to-pressure ratio (the flow rate of water injected per unit of pressure ratio) and electrical conductivitity.

The soundings were carried out as part of the aquifer characterization programme in the alluvial aquifer, with the aim of identifying hydrostratigraphic units and providing direct hydraulic measurements to support the further development of the groundwater test field. Data were collected with a Geoprobe® Hydraulic Profiling Tool (HPT) System by the Helmholtz-Centre of Environmental Research (UFZ).

This deposit includes continuous profiles of hydraulic and electrical conductivities exported as PDF reports. Monitoring time series and other aquifer testing techniques are linked via DOIs in the README.
