CLIMATIC ZONES OF RUSSIA THEIR FEATURES AND TYPES
Description
This article examines the various climates in Russia. It is shown that, moving eastward, the climate becomes increasingly continental up to the borders of Yakutia. Beyond this point, the situation changes dramatically: here, a monsoon climate zone begins, characterized by dry and frosty winters and a wet summer. Kamchatka and the Kuril Islands have a predominantly humid maritime climate, characterized by small fluctuations in both temperature and precipitation between seasons. Climatic conditions across the Russian Federation exhibit a wide range of variations, due to the country's vast east-west and south-north extent. The most pronounced diversity is observed in the temperate climate zone. Russia's climate is shaped by two main types of atmospheric circulation. First, air currents from other zones penetrate the temperate zone, where most of the country's land is concentrated and almost the entire population lives: warm tropical climates from the south, and arctic cold from the north. Secondly, within the temperate zone itself, across the vast expanses of Russia, neighboring countries, and the vast Eurasian continent, its own air masses form, which differ significantly between summer and winter.
