Micro-CT Datasets of tape and laminate specimens of Staple Fiber Yarn Composites with 1 %, 20 % and 50 % Stretching made from recycled Carbon Fibers

Description
This dataset contains X-ray computed tomography (CT) scans of recycled carbon fiber reinforced polymer (rCFRP) composites manufactured from staple fiber yarns. Two specimen types were investigated: tapes and laminates. For each specimen type, three stretching levels were considered: 1%, 20%, and 50%.
For every combination of specimen type and stretching level, three independent specimens were scanned, resulting in a total of 18 CT datasets.
The scans were acquired using a Zeiss Xradia 520 Versa X-ray microscope. All scans were reconstructed with a voxel size of 0.8 µm.
Dataset Contents
The dataset includes:
- Reconstructed CT image volumes provided as TIFF image stacks, compressed in ZIP archives.
- Corresponding scan metadata files in JSON format containing acquisition and reconstruction parameters.
File Naming Convention
Files belonging to the same specimen share a common identifier following the pattern:
<StretchingValue>_<SpecimenType>_<SpecimenNumber>
where:
StretchingValue= 1, 20, or 50 (% stretching)SpecimenType= Tape or LaminateSpecimenNumber= specimen replicate identifier (1–3)

The metadata files provide the acquisition settings and reconstruction information associated with each CT scan.
