Alexandre Grothendieck and collaborators — SGA 1–7: English readers, French editions, Spanish SGA 5, TeX, and provenance

Start with 00_SGA_1-7II_English_Global_Reader.pdf. It is the complete linked English reader for SGA 1 through SGA 7 II. Standalone English readers and editable TeX/source archives are also provided.

The same concept preserves separate editions, never an interleaved bilingual reader: English readers; diplomatic and separately corrected French source/reader checkpoints; and the Spanish SGA 5 translation. The current French public checkpoint contains SGA 1 diplomatic and corrected readers plus SGA 2 diplomatic material. Later French corrections and volumes are issued as same-concept successors.

Every correction to the French corrected edition is identified by a stable correction ID, justified in an append-only adjudication ledger, and propagated without changing the diplomatic witness. Translation lanes may discover candidates; the French-canon maintainer adjudicates and publishes them.

This is an auditable working mathematical corpus, not peer review or a claim that no error remains. Important passages should still be compared with the cited source witnesses. The Manuscript Typesetting Project prepared the transcriptions, translations, links, and provenance records. No blanket license is asserted over third-party source texts.

French correction update. fr-sga1-corrected.pdf and fr.zip bind the separate corrected-French SGA 1 edition through SGA1-CORR-0329: 327 accepted corrections and two rejected proposals. The diplomatic source and reader remain separate and unchanged. Exact source, build, direct-page review, adjudication, self-correction, and continuation records accompany the reader. fr-translation-as-qa.md explains how source-aligned translation functions as an additional audit layer without replacing direct-source review. This version also adds the separately built SGA 6 printed-diplomatic and corrected French readers, sources, validation, and evidence package. The compacted SGA 7 source-ZIP members and decisions remain byte-exact inside fr.zip; their prior outer containers remain in the immutable predecessor. [SGA-FR-C329-S6-20260806]

Separate SGA 5 French editions. fr-sga5-diplomatic.pdf preserves confirmed printed readings; fr-sga5-corrected.pdf applies only the logged accepted corrections. Both are independent 306-page readers with zero raster image objects, 1,730 destinations, and 29/29 resolved internal links. The exact SGA 5 package ZIP is preserved inside fr.zip as sga5/r1/sga5-fr.zip and in the immutable predecessor; it contains both buildable TeX sources, exact reversal and correction ledgers, validation, and human logbooks. No bilingual or interleaved reader is present. Exhaustive semantic references remain a later scaffold. [SGA-FR-S5DC-20260806]

French SGA 2: the historical source's two own selector branches are now available as separate readers. fr-sga2.pdf preserves the diplomatic/original branch; fr-sga2-corrected.pdf builds the separately encoded corrected branch. The source and exact build/provenance controls are in fr-sga2-source.zip and fr-sga2-package.zip. No bilingual or interleaved reader is present.

Separate French SGA 7 I and II editions. Four independent readers are now exposed: printed-diplomatic and separately corrected French editions for each volume, with buildable source bundles and exact decision/validation records. No side-by-side or interleaved reader is produced. Both source layers reach their volume EOF; exhaustive current-rule high-detail source review and semantic reference-v2 remain explicitly open. Nine older direct SGA2 ancillary files remain byte-exact inside fr.zip after direct-file compaction. [SGA-FR-S7-20260805]
