RAWCLIC - Consolidated Composition Data - Battery Electric Vehicle Traction Motor

  • 1. Empa Standort Sankt Gallen
  • 2. ROR icon Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology

Description

This dataset provides detailed composition data for traction motors with uncertainty characterisation. The record consists of two primary components:

  • Consolidated Dataset (RAWCLIC_BEV_motor_consolidated_data_V1.xlsx)
  • Data Description Document (RAWCLIC_BEV_motor_consolidated_data_description-V1.pdf)

To ensure clarity and machine-readability, the files follow a strict naming convention that encodes essential metadata, including:

  • Relevant product, component, and material keys, as well as element identifiers where required.
  • Parameter codes necessary for clarifying the compositional information

About the deliverable

The presented datasets developed as part of Deliverable 3.1 of the EU-funded RAWCLIC  project provide consolidated composition datasets for energy — traction motors, heat pumps, batteries, wind turbines, photovoltaics, electrolyzers and fuel cells — and digital technologies — robotics, data centers, data transmission and servers.  The general framework for data structuring adopts the technology–product–component–material–element structure from a framework developed in the FutuRaM project, as described in D3.1 Extended Waste Stream Composition Assessment to Enable Secondary Raw Material Assessment - Fut…. This framework was further developed for these datasets within RAWCLIC as part of D3.1 to include a robust framework for uncertainty characterization and analysis.

About RAWCLIC

RAWCLIC (Future RAW materials demand, supply and sustainability in the face of CLImate Change) is a 48-month EU-funded research project coordinated by BRGM, with Empa as lead beneficiary for Work Package 3. The project develops knowledge on future raw material demand, supply, and environmental impacts driven by the twin transition in the EU, empowering industry and policymakers to make informed, evidence-based decisions in support of sustainable transition pathways.
