Modern LaTeX Editions of Public-Domain Mathematics Manuscripts

This record is the broad landing and preservation backstop for the Modern LaTeX Editions of Mathematics Manuscripts project. It contains reader-facing PDFs across multiple authors and traditions, grouped TeX/source/audit archives, workflow material, and ten large full-repository preservation chunks. The files do not all have the same editorial status: use the work-level notes and ledgers before relying on a formula, diagram, translation choice, or theorem statement.

Current SGA 2 addition: the existing modern French SGA 2 reader is retained. Two new direct PDFs provide bounded, source-aligned English working checkpoints for SGA 2, Expose I, sections 1 and 2. Section 1 covers the heading/opening and section 1 through French line 279 and produces 6 English pages. Section 2 covers French lines 280-503, including the corrected terminal bibliography, and produces 5 English pages. The next cursor is Expose II at French line 505. File 91 Artifacts - SGA 2 English Expose I Sections 1-2 Source-Aligned Working Checkpoints.zip groups the editable TeX, clean alignment/terminology ledgers, target-render evidence, provenance, attribution caveats, and exact checksums.

SGA 2 boundary: these are two bounded working units, not a complete SGA 2 translation, official critical edition, peer review, mathematical certification, or full-volume source-fidelity claim. The corrected French TeX is the sole authority. French source files and source renders are not redistributed in the checkpoint package. Jacob Reinhold's explicitly LLM-generated CC BY 4.0 English corpus was used only as a comparison witness, is not treated as authority or substrate, and is not redistributed.

Reader and artifact organization: top-level PDFs are intended for immediate reading. ZIP files contain editable TeX, source/reference material where appropriate, provenance, manifests, OCR or page-image support, and audit outputs. Large preservation chunks are reconstruction backstops rather than recommended reading surfaces.

Quality note: these are working scholarly drafts and source-control artifacts. Build and render checks establish artifact integrity, not mathematical correctness. OCR/VLM output is locator or comparison evidence unless a direct source audit is explicitly recorded. No manuscript is called a critical edition or complete merely because it compiles or has broad page coverage.
