Description
This is Part I of a two-parts online workshop dedicated to strengthening both the understanding and the practical writing of Data Management Plans (DMPs) for language data, organised in the framework of the CLARIN-CH Research Data Management Working Group (RDM WG) and the Language Research Data Management Node (L-RDM Node) of the Swiss Research Data Support Network (SRDSN), in collaboration with the LaDaD (Language Data across Disciplines) project. This workshop is aimed at researchers and data stewardship professionals working with language data, particularly in the context of SNSF-funded projects.
Part I – Why DMPs Matter from the Start

An introduction to DMPs in the context of SNSF-funded projects, with a focus on early-stage planning. Includes:
- a keynote by Sylvia Jeney (SNSF) on DMPs and Open Research Data (ORD), SNSF policies
- a keynote talk by Data Stewardship Wizard by Vassilios Ioannidis (SIB)
- a hands-on activities by Cristina Grisot (CLARIN-CH National Coordinator)
Part II – How to Prepare a Good DMP
29 June 2026, 1:00–2:30 PM (online)
A practical, hands-on session covering key DMP sections (data collection, documentation, legal and ethical aspects, storage, preservation, sharing), with concrete examples for language data and discussion of anonymized DMP cases.
