IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF SELECTED SELF-POLLINATED CORN LINES BASED ON TOP-CROSS COMBINATIONS

Description

An in-depth analysis of previously identified self-pollinated corn lines for their grain productivity potential was conducted. The studied genotypes were identified as fertility restorers of the “C”-type CMS. The self-pollinated lines used in the experiment could be used to develop highly productive mid-season and mid-late season corn hybrids. A comparative analysis of the following traits was conducted: grain yield, grain moisture and selection index. Directions for further use of the new self-pollinated corn lines were identified for developing highly productive hybrids adapted to the conditions of the Central Black Earth Zone of the Russian Federation.
