Description
GASTAG (GARSTEC + Stagger) provides stellar evolutionary tracks and isochrones constructed using a novel 1D-3D coupling approach, combining the 1D stellar evolution code GARSTEC with mean 3D near-surface structures from the Stagger-grid. This coupling makes predicted stellar properties effectively independent of the mixing-length parameter and provides improved surface boundary conditions compared to classical 1D models.
The dataset covers a metallicity range of [Fe/H] = −1.90 to +0.40 for low-mass stars.
