Mathematical Misalignment Theory (MMT) proposes that many persistent anomalies, paradoxes, and incompatibilities in scientific and formal modelling may arise not solely from insufficient mathematics, but from structural constraints embedded within the representational frameworks used to model reality. MMT treats mathematics as a constrained interpretive interface rather than a perfectly transparent mirror of the systems it describes.
Under this view, internally valid mathematical systems may still generate distortions, exclusions, or unresolved tensions when structural assumptions within the descriptive framework are misaligned with the domain being represented.
MMT does not reject mathematics, formal logic, or quantitative modelling. Rather, it proposes that the representational architecture of mathematical systems should itself become an explicit object of structural inquiry. The framework establishes structural misalignment as a legitimate epistemic category and proposes recalibration of modelling assumptions at identified points of distortion while preserving the operational utility of existing mathematical systems.
