Description

This repository contains BUMS2, a modernized Python-based implementation of the Bonner sphere Unfolding Made Simple (BUMS) neutron spectrum unfolding framework originally published by Sweezy et al. (2002). The project preserves the original unfolding methodologies, detector response matrices, and neutron spectrometry workflows while improving maintainability, extensibility, portability, and compatibility with contemporary scientific computing environments. The repository includes source code, Docker deployment resources, documentation, representative example files, and a preprint manuscript describing the modernization and validation of the framework for contemporary neutron spectrometry applications.
