Zero and One: Dust and Ashes
Authors/Creators
Description
This essay proposes a speculative metaphysical reading of positional notation as a model of being. Moving beyond decimal notation as a merely contingent instance, it argues that positional systems disclose a recurring structure of identity, threshold, dependence, and continuation. Zero is interpreted not as nothingness, but as the formal marker of an unseen ground; one as the minimal standing form of the self. Through this framework, the essay develops a philosophical meditation on persistence, transformation, creaturely dependence, and the symbolic meaning of dust and ashes.
