505 Documented Attacks Against Minorities in Four Months: The Persecution Continues in Bangladesh

This HRCBM national human-rights documentation report presents verified documentation of 505 incidents affecting religious and ethnic minority communities across 62 districts and all 8 administrative divisions of Bangladesh during January–April 2026. The documented incidents include killings and suspicious deaths, sexual violence, kidnapping and physical assault, attacks on temples and religious institutions, land grabbing, arson, looting, intimidation, blasphemy-related persecution, and recurring institutional protection failures.

The report is based on field documentation, eyewitness testimony, local verification, photographic evidence, police interactions where available, and HRCBM’s structured human-rights documentation methodology. The findings indicate a geographically widespread pattern of insecurity, structural vulnerability, and impunity affecting Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Indigenous, and other vulnerable minority communities in Bangladesh.
