Description

1        Spectrum catalogue

Spectra measured by the project partners were submitted to PTB for further evaluation. PTB reviewed the submitted data and calculated mean spectra based on the accepted submissions. Since the reported spectra were provided with differing energy bin structures, the data were rebinned prior to averaging using linear interpolation between the reported bins.

1.1       Data review

As part of the data review, spectra with dead times exceeding 13 % were excluded from the dataset. In addition, the project partners were asked to provide the reference distance used to establish the reported radiation qualities. To assess the influence of differing source-to-detector distances on the half-value layer (HVL), comparable reference spectra were used. The HVL of these spectra was first calculated without modification. Subsequently, the spectra were computationally filtered with an additional air path corresponding to the difference between the reported reference distance and the actual spectrometer measurement position, and the HVL was recalculated. If the resulting deviation in HVL exceeded 0.1 %, the corresponding submitted spectrum was excluded from further evaluation. The remaining accepted spectra were then used for the calculation of the mean spectra.

1.2       Content

The catalogue includes tables summarizing the corresponding characteristic quantities, including HVL, mean, energy and as well as related uncertainties based on the variance of the reported data from different laboratories. Calculations were performed according to a procedure described in literature [2]. In addition, figures were included to show the individual submissions.
