Replication package for "Demand for cooling water reshapes global water-sustainable hydrogen production"

Description

This record contains the publication-specific replication package for the article “Demand for cooling water reshapes global water-sustainable hydrogen production”. The package includes curated processed data, figure-source data, selected processed cooling-water outputs, reference figures, and custom Julia code used to reproduce the figures, supplementary analyses, and headline numerical results reported in the article.

The package supports processed-data reproduction. It can regenerate annual and seasonal cooling-water aggregates, validate water-stress and project-capacity overlay inputs, recompute the PCA-based Water Risk Index from included processed seasonal inputs, and reproduce selected figure-source tables. It is not a full raw-data-to-manuscript rerun because several large third-party inputs are documented but not redistributed, including ERA5 climate files, Aqueduct 4.0 raw geospatial files, raw capacity-factor geospatial inputs, and raw or working copies of the IEA Hydrogen Projects Database.

External input datasets, access information, and redistribution status are documented in the repository metadata files. Data files produced by the authors are released under CC BY 4.0 unless otherwise stated. Code files produced by the authors are released under the MIT License unless otherwise stated. Third-party datasets remain subject to their original licences and terms of use.
