ReproHub: Enhanced Replicability and Open Science Education for Research with Secondary and Sensitive Data
Authors/Creators
Description
This repository contains the (1) pre-proposal, (2) final proposal with full technical details, (3) reviewer comments, and (4) rebuttal submitted to the Open Science Infrastructure 2024 Call, funded by Open Science NL (OSnl) through NWO (Dutch Research Council).
The project ("ReproHub"), which was awarded funding in December 2025, is scheduled to begin in June 2026 and will run for 48 months. ReproHub is a consortium consisting of Tilburg University, Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University Rotterdam), and ODISSEI (Open Data Infrastructure for the Social Sciences in the Netherlands).
The project leads are Hannes Datta (Tilburg University), Ana Martinovici (Rotterdam School of Management), and Tom Emery (ODISSEI), and a core team of researchers: Shrabastee Banerjee, Lachlan Deer, Stefan Kirsch, Tobias Klein, Aurélie Lemmens, Caspar van Lissa, Alexander Vossen, and Julian Wichmann.
Abstract
Despite continuous investments into open science infrastructure, research materials—like data and code—are hard to find, and even experts struggle to reproduce research results. ReproHub addresses these challenges with four deliverables to support researchers and other stakeholders in finding, documenting, and verifying research output: ReproBuddy (an AI tool to improve reproducibility packages), ReproRun (a system to validate results), OpenScienceRadar (a browser extension making open resources more visible), and OpenScienceHub.nl (a platform with accessible educational material). By building on ODISSEI and Tilburg Science Hub—two Dutch open science infrastructure components—ReproHub seeks to strengthen transparency and public trust in science.
