Description
This study examined the effectiveness of digital maternal health messages in improving women’s knowledge of maternal health issues. The study adopted a library research design and relied on secondary data obtained from books, journal articles, reports, and other scholarly publications relevant to digital health communication and maternal health education. A thematic method of analysis was employed to analyse the reviewed literature. Findings from the reviewed studies revealed that exposure to digital maternal health messages significantly enhances women’s awareness and understanding of maternal health practices, including antenatal care attendance, recognition of pregnancy danger signs, and utilisation of maternal healthcare services. However, the effectiveness of digital maternal health communication may be influenced by factors such as digital literacy, technological access, and socio-cultural considerations. The study concluded that digital maternal health communication possesses strong potential to improve women’s knowledge of maternal health issues when appropriately designed and effectively implemented.
