Eurema brigitta (Stoll, [1780]) (Fig. 35)
Material examined. (1♂, 1♀), TANZANIA, ARUSHA: 1♀, TAWIRI Forest, 23.XII.2023, (W. Sengo, A. Pauly), (S3°24 ʹ 41.0 ʺ, E36°42 ʹ 15.0 ʺ Alt: 1,300 m), deposited in TAWIRI; 1♂, Monduli, 28.VIII.2024, (S.W. Jung, Y.H. Kim, J.H. Ko, S.B. Son), (S03°18 ʹ 19.0 ʺ, E36°28 ʹ 09.8 ʺ Alt: 1,586 m).
Distribution. Sub-Saharan Africa, Madagascar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Mauritius, Comoro Islands, Reunion, Cape Verde Islands, the Oriental Region, Japan.
Remarks. The species is also found in savannas, grasslands, forest clearings, and roadsides, and in Tanzania, it inhabits altitudes ranging from 0 to 2,400 m above sea level. It is a very common species with weak flight ability, typically flying close to the ground. Preferring humid environments, it often gathers in large groups at mud pools, wet sand, and animal feces to absorb water (Kielland, 1990; Williams, 2022).
