Description

This dataset was generated within the study associated with the article “Multi-Country Study of Stable Isotopes and Mineral Elements in European Pork” published in MDPI Foods. It includes analytical data from 612 pork samples (Longissimus thoracis et lumborum) collected from 12 farms located in four European countries: Denmark, Poland, Italy and Spain. The farms adopted different production and rearing systems.

The dataset contains measurements of five stable isotope ratios (δ13C, δ15N, δ34S, δ18O, and δ2H) together with concentrations of 27 mineral elements. Mineral element data are reported both on a dry matter basis and on a wet-weight basis.

Additional metadata related to farming systems are included, such as farm geographic coordinates, breed type, feeding regime (C3 or mixed C3+C4 plants) and slaughter month.

The dataset was developed to support studies on geographical origin authentication, traceability, and characterization of European pork production systems.
