Forest EcoValue | D.3.1.2 - Alpine Region multi-level Policy Fora and dialogue process

Description

This deliverable (D.3.1.2) summarises the multi-level policy dialogue developed within the Forest EcoValue project to identify barriers, opportunities, and policy innovations for developing Forest Ecosystem Services (FES) markets in the Alpine Region.

Through interviews with policy makers, regional dialogues in five Living Labs, and transnational fora, the project collected insights on key challenges - such as property fragmentation, legislative complexity and economic sustainability - and on the need for stronger public–private cooperation.

The document outlines shared guiding principles and proposes concrete policy actions, including improved coordination tools, targeted financial mechanisms, dedicated certification schemes, and integrated territorial planning. It also presents a Policy Memo designed to support decision-makers in fostering new circular, green, and bio-based forest value chains.
