Forest EcoValue | D.2.2.1 - Forest Ecosystem Services Assessment Pilot Action Report

This deliverable D.2.2.1 presents the methodology and results of mapping and biophysical assessment of key forest ecosystem services (FES) across five pilot Living Labs in the Alpine region. It combines large-scale spatial data with local-level analyses to assess services such as biodiversity and habitat support, timber and biomass production, carbon storage and sequestration, protection against natural hazards, and cultural and recreational values.

By applying harmonised indicators and participatory Living Lab approaches, the deliverable provides comparable evidence on the capacity of Alpine forests to deliver multiple ecosystem services.

The results establish a scientific and operational basis for subsequent economic valuation, business models, and policy development supporting sustainable forest management and ecosystem service markets.
