Automated Syringe Pump Dashboard for Multi-Reagent Dispensing in ZIF Biocomposite Synthesis
Description
This record archives the Syringe Pump Dashboard, a software tool developed for automated multi-reagent dispensing, syringe-pump control, and reproducible experiment execution in ZIF biocomposite synthesis workflows.
A representative image of the syringe-pump setup and dashboard-controlled dispensing workflow is included in this record as syringe_pump_dashboard_setup.png.
The software was developed to support software-controlled syringe-pump synthesis of protein@ZIF biocomposites, where reproducible reagent delivery, dispensing order, and experimental batch handling are critical for mapping synthesis–structure–property relationships.
The software provides an instrument-control layer, a user-facing dashboard, structured JSON-based experiment configuration, dispensing protocol handling, and batch ordering for reproducible experimental data collection. The included configuration encodes dispensing workflows for four reagent channels, namely metal precursor, ligand, BSA, and water, across multiple sample batches.
The batch ordering was prepared to minimise unnecessary syringe refilling while preserving the intended experimental conditions across the synthesis space. This supports reproducible execution of larger combinatorial or multi-condition synthesis campaigns, including workflows in which many synthesis coordinates are prepared under comparable reagent-delivery conditions.
The software interface supports monitoring of dispensing progress during experiment execution and provides a practical workflow for linking experimental design, pump operation, and structured data collection. In this sense, the dashboard is not only a pump-control utility, but also a reproducibility layer connecting planned synthesis coordinates with experimentally executed dispensing sequences.
The software was conceptualised, developed, and maintained by Aleksandar Kondinski at Graz University of Technology. It is intended for non-commercial academic and research use.
This software was prepared for use with CETONI NEMESYS syringe pumps in the described experimental workflow. NEMESYS and Ixxat are third-party product names and are used only to identify compatible hardware and driver requirements. Third-party drivers are not included in this upload.
Use of this software, or of experimental data generated with it, in publications, preprints, datasets, presentations, theses, reports, or related scientific outputs requires citation of this Zenodo record and acknowledgement of the software author, in accordance with the accompanying license.
