Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Seismic Hazard Map

Description

The 2026.1 version of the GEM Global Seismic Hazard Map is the first probabilistic seismic hazard map to depict seismic hazard globally, including oceans. The map shows the mean peak ground acceleration computed for reference rock conditions (Vs30 800 m/s) with a 10% probability of exceedance in 50 years.

This A2 foldable poster showing the GEM Global Seismic Hazard Map, and describing its development, has been prepared for the GEM Conference 2026: From Faults to Future Scenarios.

A vector version of this map can also be downloaded here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8409646.
