Subregional Zoning of Israel's Vineyards
Authors/Creators
Description
Conceptual approach to subregional vineyard zoning in Israel based on the interpretation of environmental factors relevant to viticulture. Despite its relatively small size, Israel exhibits remarkable climatic, geomorphological, and soil diversity. Natural zones are spatially compressed and often change over short distances, creating substantial environmental and terroir variability. This heterogeneity provides the basis for subregional viticultural zoning.
The work includes a preliminary zoning map and a short methodological description aimed at identifying spatial heterogeneity within traditionally defined vineyard regions in Israel.
The presented framework is intended as a basis for further GIS-based refinement and validation.
