Description

OPERAS France, the French national node of OPERAS, coordinated by OpenEdition, acts as an interface between the OPERAS EU and the national SSH community.

Its objectives are threefold:
• to disseminate information about OPERAS EU activities to the French community;
• to promote and support the development of OPERAS services in French, strengthening their uptake at national level;
• to transmit the needs and expectations of the French SSH community back to OPERAS EU.

Beyond these operational objectives, OPERAS France pursues strategic goals: structuring a formal national consortium (currently in the process of signature), expanding the national node through the integration of new members each year, reinforcing France's strategic role within the European landscape, and preparing for OPERAS' transition to the status of OPERAS ERIC.

To achieve these goals, OPERAS France organizes regular webinars in French presenting the latest developments of OPERAS EU, practical workshops on OPERAS services, and thematic sessions responding to community-driven needs. It also contributes to capacity building by coordinating the French translation of key resources produced by the European Diamond Capacity Hub, including the Diamond Open Access Standard (DOAS) and related documentation.

Current and upcoming priorities include the formalization and expansion of the national consortium, the translation of training materials from the European Diamond Capacity Hub platform, the organization of training sessions on additional OPERAS services not yet covered, and the preparation of an in-person meeting gathering national members.
