[OME2026] Workshop: OMERO.figure Embraces OME-Zarr
Description
Abstract: OMERO.figure is a web-based tool for creating figures from microscopy images. It was created to work with images and metadata from OMERO. We have now added the ability to load and render OME-Zarr images in the browser, removing the reliance on the OMERO.server. OMERO.figure can now be used as a standalone app, but also continues to work as an OMERO.web app. This means that there is no change for OMERO users. The “export” of figures to PDF or TIFF can also be run as a local python script, instead of using the OMERO.server. We will discuss these changes and walk through the evolving OME-Zarr workflows in OMERO.figure. Attendees will be able to follow along on their laptops. If conda is also installed before the workshop, this will make it easier to install and run the python script for figure export.
