Description
Lepiota thrombophora (Berk. & Broome) Sacc.
Small to medium fruit body, pale, conico-campanulate to convex, umbonate agaric bearing densely crowded yellowish-brown appressed granular squamules on the cap, whitish gills and central hollow, white stipe with reddish tints, and membranous annulus attached at the apex (Figure 21).
Annual, rare, particolous, with a taste and odor not distinctive, and inedible. In small groups on soil under Memecylon umbellatum. Pileus 2.8–4.6 cm in diameter and stipe 4.2–5.6 cm tall × 0.5–0.8 cm thick. Basidiospores are hyaline, smooth, ellipsoidal, and 13.1–15.8 × 3.3–4.2 µm.
