Description

# Tables with reference parameters and confidence intervals

This repository contains a PDF file (Tables_with_best_parameter_values_and_priors.pdf) including three tables that summarize the results of the modeling presented in the paper.

  • Table 1 reports the results of the fits to the Gaia data discussed in Appendix C.1.
  • Table 2 reports the results of the fits to the Walker kinematic data described in Appendix C.2.
  • Table 3 contains the results of the distribution-function-based dynamical models for the two galaxies and the two constructed catalogs.

For each model, the tables provide:

  • the priors adopted for all free parameters,
  • the median value of each parameter,
  • the corresponding 1σ and 2σ confidence intervals

The reported uncertainties correspond to the marginalized posterior distributions obtained from the Bayesian analysis.

# Stellar catalogs for Draco and Ursa Minor

This repository contains the stellar catalogs used for the dynamical and chemo-dynamical analysis of the Draco and Ursa Minor dwarf spheroidal galaxies.

For each galaxy, a dedicated Gaia member-star catalog was first constructed. Starting from these Gaia-based catalogs, the stars were then assigned line-of-sight velocities and metallicities using two independent spectroscopic datasets:
- Walker et al. (2023)
- Geha et al. (2026)

Details on the membership selection procedure and on the association with the spectroscopic catalogs are provided in the associated paper and appendices.

Each resulting catalog is distributed as a `.csv` file.
Catalogs are:
draco_G26_dataset:    Draco catalog with Geha et al. (2026) sample
draco_W23_dataset:    Draco catalog with Walker et al. (2023) sample
umi_G26_dataset:    Ursa Minor catalog with Geha et al. (2026) sample
umi_GW6_dataset:    Ursa Minor catalog with Walker et al. (2023) sample

| `X_deg` | Tangent-plane coordinate along the right ascension direction (degrees), centered on the galaxy and corrected for perspective effects. |
| `Y_deg` | Tangent-plane coordinate along the declination direction (degrees), centered on the galaxy and corrected for perspective effects. |
| `X_kpc` | Physical X coordinate (kpc), obtained from `X_deg` assuming a distance of 76 kpc. |
| `Y_kpc` | Physical Y coordinate (kpc), obtained from `Y_deg` assuming a distance of 76 kpc. |
| `gmag` | Extinction-corrected Gaia G-band magnitude. |
| `g_bp` | Extinction-corrected Gaia G−BP color. |
| `feh` | Stellar metallicity \([{\rm Fe/H}]\). |
| `feh_error` | Uncertainty on the metallicity measurement. |
| `vlos` | Line-of-sight velocity corrected for the systemic motion of the galaxy and for the perspective velocity gradient across the plane of the sky. |
| `vlos_error` | Uncertainty on `vlos`. |
| `vraw` | Raw line-of-sight velocity, not corrected for systemic motion nor perspective effects. |
| `vraw_error` | Uncertainty on `vraw`. |
| `pmra` | Proper motion in right ascension direction (\(\mu_{\alpha *}\), mas yr\(^{-1}\)). |
| `pmra_error` | Uncertainty on `pmra`. |
| `pmdec` | Proper motion in declination direction (\(\mu_{\delta}\), mas yr\(^{-1}\)). |
| `pmdec_error` | Uncertainty on `pmdec`. |
| `pm_corr` | Correlation coefficient between the RA and Dec proper motion measurements. |
| `parallax` | Gaia parallax measurement (mas). |
| `parallax_error` | Uncertainty on the parallax measurement. |
| `prob_mp` | Probability that the star belongs to the metal-poor component. |
| `prob_mr` | Probability that the star belongs to the metal-rich component. |

---

# Notes

- Missing measurements are stored as `NaN`.

- The probabilities satisfy:

\[
\mathrm{prob\_mp} + \mathrm{prob\_mr} = 1
\]

- Velocities and positions are expressed in the reference frame adopted in the analysis.

- The tangent-plane coordinates are centered on the galaxy center and corrected for perspective effects.

- The physical coordinates assume a distance of 76 kpc for both Draco and Ursa Minor.
