Simulated radio images of magnetised flickering jets

Description

This dataset accompanies our 2026 paper: "The impact of flickering variability and magnetisation on the dynamics, stability and morphology of radio-loud AGN jets", which can be found at arxiv.org/abs/2605.13469v1 .

Each file contains simulated radio images at one time stamp for one of our four simulations covering constant and variable power and high (0.01) and low (0.001) magnetisations. Within each fits file, each HDU provides one view of the sources. Files 0 to 59 rotate the jet around the jet axis; files 60 to 120 rotate the jet such that the angle between the line of sight and the jet axis changes. Both rotations are given through 360 degrees at 6 degree increments. More details regarding the production of the images can be found in the methods section of the paper.
