Description

These daily values of the McArthur Forest Fire Danger Index (FFDI) for Australia are calculated from bias-corrected daily 20CRv3 data on maximum temperature, rainfall, relative humidity, and wind speed at a spatial resolution of 0.05 degrees by 0.05 degrees. Further details about the dataset are listed as follows:

  1. Spatial Resolution: 0.05° X 0.05°
  2. Temporal Resolution: Daily
  3. Date Range: 1st January 1836 to 31st December 2015
  4. Source Data: 20th Century Version 3
  5. Ensembles used: 3, 7, 11, 13, 43
  6. Fill Value: -9999
  7. Bias Correction method used on the daily climatic variables: Quantile-Quantile (QQ) matching using Monotone Piecewise Hermite Cubic Spline
  8. Interpolation technique used to resample 20CRv3 variables: Biliniear
  9. Areas masked with fill value:
    • Ocean region outside Australia
    • Outlier values below the lower limit
    • Outlier values above the upper limit
  10. Datatype: float32
