Description
This repository contains the data and code used in the paper “Solar Resource Exposure to Curtailment: Evidence from Constrained Photovoltaic Plants in Brazil.”
The archive includes R scripts for the spatial and plant-level analysis of photovoltaic curtailment in Brazil, based on operational records from the Brazilian system operator, and Python scripts for the localized solar-resource forecasting exercise. The forecasting workflow uses NASA POWER meteorological data at selected photovoltaic plant coordinates, constructs transformed and lagged predictors, estimates rolling-window machine-learning models, and computes individual and grouped permutation-importance measures.
The repository also includes raw and processed data files, model outputs, figures, and tables used to support the empirical analysis. A README file documents the folder structure, software requirements, execution order, and the role of each dataset and script.
