Description

Digital transformation has become a critical driver of organizational change and competitive advantage in the modern business environment. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the relationship between digital transformation and market disruption, focusing on how emerging technologies reshape industries and redefine business models. Drawing on established theoretical frameworks, including disruptive innovation theory, dynamic capabilities theory, and the resource-based view, the research examines the mechanisms through which digital technologies enable firms to create and sustain competitive advantage. The study adopts a qualitative case study methodology, supported by secondary data analysis, to investigate real-world examples of digital transformation. Key case studies include Amazon, Netflix, and Uber, which illustrate how organizations leverage cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and platform-based business models to disrupt traditional markets. The findings reveal that digital transformation significantly enhances organizational agility, innovation capability, and customer-centricity, while also accelerating the pace and scale of market disruption.

The research identifies business model innovation, data-driven decision-making, and platform ecosystems as key enablers of disruption. At the same time, it highlights challenges such as organizational resistance, cyber security risks, and the complexity of integrating new technologies with legacy systems. The results indicate that successful digital transformation requires a holistic approach that aligns technology adoption with strategic objectives, organizational culture, and leadership commitment. This study contributes to the existing literature by providing an integrated framework for understanding digital transformation and its disruptive effects across industries. The findings offer practical implications for managers and policymakers seeking to navigate the complexities of the digital economy and achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
