Description

This talk took place on April 21, 2026, as part of a lecture series of the SPARKLE doctoral network (https://www.sparkle-dn.eu/) in Copenhagen.

We introduce concepts of research data management and open science in the context of the German Nation Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and the FAIRmat project.  Discussion items include the research data lifecycle, FAIR data, structured data, and research data platforms. Finally, a modern implementation of the FAIR principles in the NOMAD platform is presented.

This work is funded by the NFDI consortium FAIRmat - Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project 460197019.
