Theory of Energetic Persistence: a speculative framework for dynamic dark energy

We present the Theory of Energetic Persistence (TPE, from its Spanish acronym Teoría de la Persistencia Energética), a conceptual framework proposing that time is not a fundamental dimension of spacetime but an emergent variable of energy flow and redistribution. The central variable is the Existence Flux Φ = Δṅ / ρE, where Δṅ is the entropy production rate and ρE the local energy density. We show that this proposal implies a dynamic dark energy with equation of state w(z) = −1 + β₀·exp(−γ·z), which fits DESI DR2 data with χ²/dof = 0.009 for two free parameters (β₀ = 0.229 ± 0.023, γ = 1.376 ± 0.18). This result is in tension with ΛCDM and is consistent with the 4.2σ signal reported by DESI in 2025. We identify the current limitations of the formalism, propose a tentative Lagrangian action, and describe three observational tests that could distinguish TPE from standard quintessence models. This document is a speculative preprint that has not undergone peer review and is intended to invite constructive criticism from the theoretical physics community.

Presentamos la Teoría de la Persistencia Energética (TPE), un marco conceptual que propone que el tiempo no es una dimensión fundamental del espaciotiempo sino una variable emergente del flujo y la redistribución de energía. La variable central es el Flujo de Existencia Φ = Δṅ / ρE, donde Δṅ es la tasa de producción de entropía y ρE la densidad de energía local. Mostramos que esta propuesta implica una energía oscura dinámica con ecuación de estado w(z) = −1 + β₀·exp(−γ·z), que se ajusta a los datos DESI DR2 con χ²/dof = 0.009 para dos parámetros libres (β = 0.229 ± 0.023, γ = 1.376 ± 0.18). Este₀ resultado está en tensión con ΛCDM y es consistente con la señal de 4.2σ reportada por DESI en 2025. Identificamos las limitaciones actuales del formalismo, proponemos una acción lagrangiana tentativa, y describimos tres tests observacionales que podrían distinguir la TPE de modelos de quintessence estándar. Este documento es un preprint especulativo que no ha superado revisión por pares y está destinado a invitar crítica constructiva de la comunidad de física teórica.
