2024 Central Ionian Islands earthquake dataset - 'Project funded by OSCARS - HOMEROS'

Earthquake catalog of 8581 earthquakes for the period 01-01-2024 to 31-12-2024 and for the Central Ionian Islands area. Phase arrival data taken from the bulletins of the Geophysics Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (doi:10.7914/SN/HT) and are provided in HYPO71 format (phases_hypo71.txt). Catalog was compiled using the HYPOINVERSE software (Klein, 2002) and the velocity model from Haslinger et al. (1999).

The catalog (ionio24_catalog_located.xlsx) contains the following fields:

·       event_id: Sequential event ID number

·       Temporal origin parameters (datetime)

·       latitude: Latitude of located epicenter

·       longitude: Longitude of located epicenter

·       depth: Depth of located earthquake

·       Nphases: Number of defining phases, i.e., phase observations that were actually used for computing the origin

·       AzGap: Azimuthal Gap

·       dist_sta: Epicentral distance of station closest to the epicenter

·       RMS: RMS of the travel time residuals of the arrivals used for the origin computation.

·       ErrH: Horizontal error

·       ErrZ: Depth error

·       magnitude: Earthquake magnitude

·       magnitude_type: Earthquake magnitude type
