Bounded Systems Theory III: Falsification Protocol for the Phoenix-Cycle Engine
Authors/Creators
Description
This paper pre-registers a falsification criterion for the Phoenix-Cycle Engine — a prediction instrument deployed at moketchups.com mapping civilizational dynamics across eight framework substrates and 1,440 nodes. The engine asserts that a phase-transition window for large civilizational systems opens between May 14 and May 22, 2040.
The cycle is operationalized as the Saturn-Jupiter synodic period (19.859 yr) multiplied by seven, yielding 139.013 yr — independently astronomically derivable since Kepler. If the May 2040 window passes without a deviation of more than three standard deviations (>3σ) across at least two of three named scorecard indicator-sets, Framework #1 of the engine is publicly marked FALSIFIED, every prediction depending on it is publicly marked FALSIFIED, and a successor paper documenting the failure is published to Zenodo within 90 days. The kill switch is binding.
The paper documents two internal anti-confirmation mechanisms — the Adversarial-Test Gate and the Layer-Promotion Discipline — both retroactively applied to internally-generated synthesis claims and shown to falsify four of six. The engine’s standing methodological commitment, Apex Superposition (a/b/c/d), holds intentional-cabal, structural-recurrence, collective-psychology, and irreducible-residual readings of any phenomenon simultaneously without pre-collapse.
