Scalability of Qur'anic Meanings through a new method of Attribute-Oriented Object Recognition

Any sincere transmitted message must have an explicit addressee, an intended meaningful
message, and a feasible language of communication. Mingling these three distinct facts results
in some failure in refining the message. We applied this self-evident rule to Qur’an as the
‘sincere message’ sent by God to all of humanity, carrying whatever intended meaning(s), and
expressed in the Arabic language. We found that this rule was distorted and restricted the
‘Qur’anic global universal’ message into ‘a local Arabic cultural one’. The anticipated outcome
manifests itself into a series of challenges that greatly intensified in this modern age. After
enumerating the challenges, we present a detailed methodology in terms of ‘Scalability of
Qur’anic Meanings’, through which we reset the communication process of the message back
to its original global state, with clear separation of the “addressee’ culture” from the “language
of communication”. In this new methodology, we focus on the explicit duality of Quranic verses,
as given in verse (3:7), into ‘evident’ and ‘equivocal’ verses, where emphasis is put on the
equivocal verses as the key that switches the message back to its global nature, as it should. The
core of our resolution is based on transferring equivocal verses into evident verses, whenever
possible, through a method of recognizing the objects of speech of the verses by their explicit
attributes in the Qur’anic text. Thus, we name it “The Method of Attribute-Oriented Object
Recognition”. Lastly, we show how to apply this method to uncover hidden meanings in the
Qur’anic text.
