Unveiling the Climatic Tolerance and Refugia Potential of Abies cilicica Carr. through Integrative Niche Modeling under Climate Change
Description
This repository contains the R scripts and Shiny application developed for the study entitled “Unveiling the Climatic Tolerance and Refugia Potential of Abies cilicica Carr. through Integrative Niche Modeling under Climate Change.”
The repository includes two main components:
- run_biomod.r: An R script implementing the species distribution modeling (SDM) workflow using the biomod2 framework. This script covers data preprocessing, pseudo-absence generation, model calibration across multiple algorithms, ensemble modeling, and evaluation using standard performance metrics (e.g., AUC and TSS). It also includes procedures for projecting current and future habitat suitability under different climate scenarios.
- app.R: A Shiny-based graphical user interface designed to facilitate the execution of the SDM workflow. The application allows users to input species occurrence data and environmental predictors, configure model settings, run analyses, and visualize outputs interactively, thereby improving accessibility and reproducibility.
The modeling framework integrates high-resolution climatic data and multiple future climate scenarios to assess the climatic niche dynamics, potential range shifts, and identification of climatically stable (refugia) areas for Abies cilicica.
These scripts were developed to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and transferability of the analytical workflow, and may be adapted for other species and regions with similar ecological and modeling requirements.
