Description

These datasets are associated with the M.Sc. thesis "Is the Western Volcanic Zone Still Spreading? A Geodetic Model of Plate Motion in South Iceland" in Geophysics at the University of Iceland.

The data sets consist of tables related to the content of the appendix chapters and include the following:

  • A list of all GPS sites used in the thesis, along with their corresponding longitude and latitude coordinates.
  • GPS velocity field (both uncorrected and corrected) for the period 1992-2025 in four different reference frames: ITRF2014, stable North America, stable Eurasia, and a ridge-fixed reference frame (see GPS_velocity_field_uncorrected_and_corrected.zip).
  • A list of GPS sites that were using NavXperience 3G+C (NAX) antennas between 2016 and 2022 and require correction.
  • GPS site velocities predicted by the GIA model of Auriac et al. (2013).
  • Predicted displacement from the transient source models implemented in the TDEFNODE forword model (see Transient_source_models_tables.zip).
  • Results of block model, including GPS and InSAR observed, calculated, and residual velocities (see Block_model_results_tables.zip).
