Description
The 2nd Online Training Seminar of the project “Prevent-DisCC – Cross-Border Actions for Disaster Prevention and Climate Change” (https://www.prevent-discc.eu/) was successfully held, with the participation of staff from the competent departments of the Municipalities of Rhodes and Kourion.
The Training Seminars are implemented under the scientific responsibility of CERTH / HIT, with the active contribution of its scientific staff, within the framework of actions aimed at strengthening cross-border cooperation and promoting knowledge transfer among the involved stakeholders.
Seminar topics:
- Forecasting Models & Scenario Development: Development of realistic wildfire spread scenarios
- Field Sampling & Forest Area Analysis: Use of UAVs and robotic systems
The training activities continue with new thematic modules, contributing to the formulation of a common prevention strategy for wildfires and natural disasters, as well as a coherent framework for operational preparedness.
