Definitions of vagueness, uncertainty and their combination in the Cultural Heritage Domain

This contribution from the NFDI4Objects TWG – Community Standards for Modelling Fuzziness & Wobbliness in Research Data Using Semantic Web Technologies and Formalisms (FuzzyWobblySW) provides a basic explanation and definition of the terms: uncertainty, vagueness, and ‘fuzziness & wobbliness’ from the TWG’s perspective. These definitions serve as the basis for the preparation of further white papers by the TWG. 

This document has been published online as a 1st draft for the public consultation phase. The opportunity for the community to provide feedback is an integral part of the NFDI4Objects (N4O) Commons processes. Further versions of this document will be published, taking the comments into account, first as a final draft and, following approval by the NFDI4Objects General Assembly, as a Commons document.

Dieser Beitrag der NFDI4Objects TWG - Community-Standards for modelling fuzziness & wobbliness in research data using Semantic Web technologies and formalisms (FuzzyWobblySW) gibt die grundlegende Erläuterung und Definition der Begriffe: Unsicherheit, Vagheit und „fuzziness & wobbliness“ aus Sicht der TWG dar. Diese Definitionen dienen als Grundlage für die Erstellung der weiteren Whitepapers der TWG. 

Dieses Dokument wurde als 1. Entwurf (1^st Draft) für die öffentliche Kommentierungsphase online gestellt. Die Möglichkeit zur Kommentierung durch die Community ist integraler Bestandteil der NFDI4Objects (N4O) Commons-Prozesse. Weitere Versionen dieses Dokuments werden unter Berücksichtigung der Kommentare zunächst als finaler Entwurf (Final Draft) und nach Verabschiedung durch die General Assembly von NFDI4Objects als Commons-Dokument veröffentlicht.
