Effective Paragraph Development

Writing allows us to communicate with the world around us. It is a mode of expression, a
vehicle for information, and a means of persuasion. You probably produce at least one
piece of writing every day, but in your college courses, you will practice different modes
of writing to strengthen your skills and fine-tune your writing process. As you progress
through your program of study, this practice will help you grow not only as a
writer, but also as a reader and critical thinker.
